Ecotec DOUBLE-FLOW dual-flow logging probe
Description
The dual-flow probe is made of stainless steel and is a pipe-in-pipe design to eliminate the “vacuum cleaner effect” of single-flow auger sampling. The standard length of the two-flow probe in Ecotec samplers is 2700 mm. As an option, we can manufacture a probe of any size to fit your sampler: 2000 mm, 2200 mm, 2500 mm, 3000 mm, etc.
How it works
The dual-flow probe is a pipe-in-pipe design, and the sampler has a closed loop pneumatic system. A turbine pumps air between the outer and inner pipes, and the air supply is regulated by a valve. For the probe to work properly, the amount of air pumped into the probe must be equal to the amount of air sucked by the turbine to prevent grain and air from being sucked in from the outside.
A piece of paper is required to properly adjust the stylus. The paper is placed in front of the probe opening and the air supply from the turbine is adjusted so that the paper is not sucked into the probe but does not fall off. After this adjustment, when the probe is lowered into the product, only the grain that has mechanically entered the inner tube as a result of its immersion in the sample product is sampled. There is no suction of grain and light impurities by the two-flow probe from the outside!
Feature of the double-curtain probe
The peculiarity of this probe is that it selects only the grain (and debris) that has fallen under pressure inside the probe (inner tube) and is only then picked up by the air flow. Therefore, there is no “vacuum cleaner” effect at all.
